You think it will never happen to you....until it does.
Hearing the words...'I am so so sorry, you have breast cancer' rocked me to the core.
Before you know it, you get thrown into the cancer treatment hamster wheel of doctors appointments, surgery, fear, pain, panic, more appointments and then of course chemo, radiotherapy and more drugs than you can imagine.
As a nurse in my previous life, it has been so much harder, sicker and challenging than I could ever have imagined.
Cancer is a reality for so many, and there is no point hiding this reality, it’s not pretty.
It sucks, it hurts, it scares the shit out of me.
With that said, I have survived so far and will continue to do so in the future.
I've created this page because I want to make a difference.
Especially for the 18+ thousand women who will have the same diagnosis in this year that I did in 2017.
For mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, and uncles, not to mention all the amazing men, and boys in our lives.
I'm inspired by the work of Mother's Day Classic Foundation and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Mother's Day Classic 2018.
It's a walk not run event for me :)
